About Rory Foster
Rory Foster is a Nationally Board Certified Reflexologist, Usui Reiki Master, and Licensed Massage Therapist.
Rory has spent his life working with human anatomy and movement. He began his training in classical ballet in Chicago as a young boy of 13. He had a professional performing career in New York and London with American Ballet Theatre and London Ballet Theatre, respectively, as well as with other national ballet companies. Following his performing years, he worked as the ballet master for the New Orleans Ballet and later the Chicago Ballet. Rory transitioned into university teaching and was a professor and dean of the Barat College Conservatory of Dance at DePaul University in Chicago. Upon retiring from teaching, and as a lifelong practitioner of yoga and meditation, it seemed natural for him to transition into the area of alternative and complementary healing through mind/body integrative therapies, particularly therapeutic reflexology and energy healing.
Rory completed his reflexology certification in 2011 at the International Institute of Reflexology in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he trained under Dwight Byers, a leading world authority on foot and hand reflexology. He later passed his national board certification examinations with the American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB) becoming a nationally board certified reflexologist. He is a professional member of the Reflexology Association of America (RAA) and he served as Chair of the Education Committee and as a Director on RAA’s Board of Directors. He is also a member of the International Council of Reflexologists. In 2014, Rory completed his masseur certification in massage therapy at Advanced Massage Therapeutics in Louisville. He is currently a Board Approved Continuing Education Provider with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and teaches a NCBTMB Approved course in Reflexology.
Rory has been a Reiki Master level healing practitioner since 2010.
